Preparation before the Sabbath

Berĕshith (Genesis) 2:1-3 TS2009

Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their array. And in the seventh day Elohim completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And Elohim blessed the seventh day and set it apart, because on it He rested from all His work which Elohim in creating had made. 

Today is the 6th day- the day we prepare for the 7th day, the Sabbath! 

May your preparation day be productive but also focused on the reason why we are preparing. We are getting ready to welcome in to our homes and heart, the King, for His special day which he set aside for us. 

After 6 days of creation, I don't believe that Yah was tired, but He also knew that our little bodies would be in need of refreshing. I don't think He felt disconnected from Himself, but after 6 days of working hard, He knew *we'd* need the reconnection to Him. He made this coming sabbath day (and all of the others, past and future) for us and may we never forget to be thankful for it.

May we always seek to keep Him in the center of it. And, may we always call it what it is: a delight!
