Almost time to wake up to the smell shofars and s'mores!

Almost time to wake up to the smell shofars and s'mores!

Wake Up! It’s almost Yom Teruah (and the Fall Feasts Are Rolling In!)

Shalom, Shema Shoppe family!

It’s almost that time of year again. Here in the South, what we are experiencing is called False Fall... the air is crisper, the pumpkin spice is trying to sneak into everything (coming soon to a bread pudding near you), and the Fall Feasts are just around the corner. It reminds us that Summer will be yielding to cooler days, sometime soon. That means it’s time to shake off the summer haze and start brushing up on your shofar skills! Yom Teruah—also known as the Feast of Trumpets is all about sounding the alarm.

🎺 Yom Teruah: The Original Wake-Up Call

Forget your phone alarm. Yom Teruah is the biblical equivalent of “Hey, wake up, something BIG is coming!” It’s a day of blasting shofars, shouting for joy, and remembering that the King is coming! Think of it as Yah's way of saying, “Rise and shine, people—it’s rehearsal time!”

🌊 Next Up: Yom Kippur (The Day of Serious Business)

After the trumpet blasts settle down, we slide right into Yom Kippur: the Day of Atonement. This is the time to reflect, repent, and afflict your being (yes, fasting is on my personal menu, but hey, it makes the break-fast taste like a 5-star feast, so there’s that!).

It’s a solemn day, but one that points us toward mercy, forgiveness, and the kind of love that wipes the slate clean. While you’re preparing your heart, you might want to slip into something comfy, like a Shema Shoppe "Teshuva" shirt.

🏕️ Then Comes Sukkot: Camping with a Purpose

Finally, we wrap it all up with Sukkot: the Feast of Tabernacles. This is when we get up from our comfy couches and Netflix remotes and head outside to dwell in little sukkahs (booths). Think of it as Yah’s version of a family camping trip, complete with food, friends, and the occasional lopsided palm branch wall. This is when we live in tents and build our empathy for the Israelites when the kids next door stay up all night talking, and so you're up all night, too... thinking how loud it must've been in the middle of camp in the wilderness.

It’s seven days of rejoicing, fellowshipping, praising, and remembering that this world is temporary but His promises are permanent. And if you’ve never tried eating kosher hot dogs in a sukkah during a windstorm… let’s just say you haven’t lived.

And speaking of sukkahs, our newest design might just become your must-have feast shirt: the “S’more Yeshua, Less of Me” tee! With an adorable marshmallow-y s’more graphic, it’s the perfect way to combine Sukkot campfire vibes with a reminder of Who really satisfies. Trust us, it’s sweeter than anything Hershey’s ever made.

🎉 Why We Celebrate

All these feasts remind us of YHWH’s incredible story and how we’re woven right into it. From trumpets to tents, from fasting to feasting, it’s all about turning our hearts back to the Father and yes, having a little fun (okay, a lot of fun) along the way.

So dust off your shofar, practice your sukkah-building skills, and maybe stock up on kosher marshmallows for that Sukkot bonfire. The Fall Feasts are coming, and we at Shema Shoppe are here for it; shofars, sukkahs, and sweet new shirts.

(Soon) Chag Sameach blessings, friends! 🎺🔥🍫
