Prophetin' Aint Easy, Youngin!

Jeremiah at 17: “This’ll Be Easy!”

Ah, teenage optimism; you’ve got joints that don't ache, endless energy to do all the things, and zero clue what life is about to throw at you. Enter Jeremiah: called by Yahweh to be a prophet as a teenager, thinking, “How stressful could this be?”  His biggest question is who would listen to him because he was was so young. Fast forward a few chapters, and he’s crying so much they literally call him the weeping prophet. *Cue the wrinkles.*

Imagine trying to preach doom and gloom to your hometown while everyone just wants to roast marshmallows at the fall feasts. Not exactly a stress-free gig. You're for sure going to get a few gray hairs after a bit.

But hey, at least Jeremiah gave us some of the most raw, relatable lines in the Bible. Proof that the prophets weren’t superheroes. They were human, sometimes complete with teenage overconfidence and always plenty of “what did I sign up for?” moments.
